Zap
Guffin' around
Took the dogs out to do some flatwork around jump wings. Zap was speedy puppy as always - his extremely tight turns continues to amaze me.
Wow! We did some agility today :)
Sat up a small sequence consisting of four jumps and the seesaw. The dogs enjoyed doing something else than long walks in the woods for a change and here's a video to proof it.
Dania Cup & BCC 2011
In the past two weeks we have participated in two big international events. First Dania Cup and this weekend Border Collie Classic.

We participated in a class 1/2 show yesterday. Zap ran his first clean run and earned a leg in Jumpers 1. He also won the class!
Results from Albertslund
Strange. According to the uploaded results from last weekend Zap ran clean in A1 and got 2nd place.
More Videos
Here's the videos from our runs on Sunday. It reveals the good, the bad and the ugly parts in unedited form, so be prepared to cover you eyes from time to time ;)
Amazing weekend
Wow! What a weekend. It was everything I had hoped for and more. Zap and Bob did so amazingly well. Of course there was moments of chaos, but there were runs that amazed me as well.
Only Eight Days Left
. To Zap's first show and the first outdoor trial of the year. I'm so excited! This will also be Bob's first outdoor trial as he competed once in November indoor on carpet.
Weaves and Contacts
I took advantage of the awesome weather we were having last weekend and painted the dog walk. During the week it dried enough for us to use it in training.
Two years gone by already?!
Zap and Bob turned two years old yesterday. I can't believe how fast they grew up.
First 2011 Update
Busy times so not that many blog post in the last few months. I've been studying (surprise, surprise), training dogs, giving seminars and writing articles for Hund & Træning. I think it's safe to say I've been pretty preoccupied.
Competition Ahead
Had a training session with all the dogs today as my parents came by with Bob and Liva.
2x2: Four Straight Poles!
We're weaving! or at least Zap is, I'm just trying to throw the toy at the right time without hitting him. Nonetheless Zap had his first go at four straight poles today.
Weave Poles and Contacts
Zap is now 15 months old and I started teaching him the 2x2 weave this week. He's almost weaving 4 straight poles, but I want to work more on entries and he's getting next week off -his brain and body needs a break.
Zap's Running A-frame 1
I decided to use Rachel Sander's box method with Zap. We've been working the box on the ground during the winter. Given his progress I tried adding the box to the A-frame.
Running Contacts 12: An improvement!
More videos. Definitely an improvement from session 11, but I still feel like the puppies would benefit from more groundwork without any height.
Running Contacts 11
Videos from our session 11. Notice the big difference between Poncho and Zap/Bob's performances. They have had the exact same amount of training, but Poncho has progressed through the initial stages much faster even though he's been retrained - talking about an operant dog!
Running Contacts 6-10: Reevaluating
I been doing a lot of thinking concerning our running contacts. Lately many people have been blogging running dog walks and whether or not the handler is fast enough to handle a running dog walk.
Running Contacts 1
I decided to defy the snow and went out to train the dogs. Because off the snow our running contact training has been proponed with almost two months, but I decided it was time for our very first session today.
Running Contacts 3: Manners Minder - Yes, please!
Did our third running contacts session today, and I do spot a trend I really don't like. Both Zap and Poncho anticipate where the reward is coming from, therefore they look over their shoulder to spot it. This means they aren't running at full speed across the plank.
Running Contacts 4: New Plank and Location
Just had our fourth session. Bob's second to be precise. Thought I might as well generalize the behavior from the beginning to other planks and environments.
Trick Tutorial; Backing around Handler
It's great to be able to blog again without feeling guilty because you know you should be studying. I thought this weekend should have been a busy one since I was teaching a jumping skills class in Horsens Saturday and had a day of agility planed Sunday.
